THE LOTUS THAT WENT TO THE SEA. This is a film about artists exploring their own country and history while simultaneously engaging with the global art community beyond their borders. In Cambodia, lotuses grow in ponds hemmed in on all sides. They are beautiful but they stay in the same place their whole lives. These lotuses leap out of their ponds and adventure to find new things. These lotuses follow rivers and go eventually to the sea to experience the world.
